i will never understand those that take pets from another. there are few more cruel acts than that. i hope this lady finds her ringies, i would be absolutely devastated.

One of the old ladies who volunteers at the rescue had her YNA stolen out of her house in that area as well. It is believed that the birds are stolen, then taken to Miami to be sold...most likely for drug money.

This is a HORRIBLE fear of mine... I don't like to take my birds out anymore because I'm afraid people like this will watch where we live and break in and take them.

This is actually a world wide problem parrots are getting stolen from houses and then being sold on the black market the British press released a warning not to tell anyone that you have a parrot and to take measures to keep your parrots secure.

Recently in Canada there was a crime wave of birds being stolen. This was believed to be the act of a crime ring selling them on the black market and shipping them world wide to the market they they will get the most money for them.

Parrots are a declining natural resource and prices are rising worldwide. This is the perfect opportunity for crime rings to make money.

So the general advice is to take as many security precautions as possible with your parrots.

I'll keep an eye and ear open but I doubt if they will be recovered.

Oh God, this is why I don't even mention I have a bird to anyone.. we even have quilts over the windows facing the street in the bird room, they get all their sunshine in the BACK of the condo where nobody can see!!
