He is a full grown Sulpha Crested Cockatoo. Peggy should look exactly like him but just a little smaller being the female of the species.

I will try to find out where he came from, but my guess is he was once wild and hung around on the ground like a lot of PBFD birds do here and was taken in.

Good news, I think he is starting to settle cause I can hear him in the bird room talking. Daylight is just starting to filter in, he is an early bird, Peggy is still asleep, you know when she wakes, she tells you lol.

I went over to my other house and picked up the avairy yesterday.
Pi'ere is not an inside bird, he is finding it a little cramped in the play avairy.
Getting this avairy back here on the top of a trailer was a mean feat let me tell you. It kept sliding to the back of the trailer, had to travel at 50k's and keep stopping the whole way. What was a half hour trip took me an hour.

My son and I got it set up. All went well, no damage to it thank heavens. It is right outside the back door.
Just waiting for a bit more daylight and I will go out and start the interior for this new man of mine. I have a way cool branch ladder and some other natural branches. Pi'ere will be one happy chappy today!!!

That sounds exciting - I look forward to the photos.

I don't envy you all the work & the drive from H.

How's his diet these days - Is he adjusting to all the changes?

That's wonderful that you took him in and are giving him a new loving home at a sad time in his life.I look forward to hearing more about him as he settles in.

He is in the avairy. What a transformation, this boy is just not an inside bird. I will get some pics, but to give u an idea, he is right outside the back door, just off the porch, I have put a shade sail above him today as well. I have put my planting table and some ferns and my herb planter all around him, I also covered the roof and one exposed side of the avairy in canvas to keep him a bit warmer and keep the sun off the tin roof in summer.
I am going to get my creeping rose that is just round the corner to come over to the avairy, I just grabbed some branches off it today and tied them to get them over this way. It has a pretty yellow flower.

So he was busy doing the bop, talkin and sqwarkin, I haven't heard him so animated since he came here.

His diet...I have him on wild bird mix, some sunflower seed, lima beans, dried pumpkin seed, apple, kiwi frut, brussel sprouts, celery leaves, strawberry leaves, rhubarb, toast with heaps of butter (a legacy from Peggy lol) and peanuts as a treat.
He is lapping it up. Lots of fresh water too!!!

He is a good boy, not trying to bite or lunge me, just sitting up on his branch looking at me and showing off, turning his head almost upside down and fluttering his crest. Think I might just fall in love with him.

P.S. Peggy was glad to have her play cage back. I put it back on the porch and brought Peg's out there and put her in it today, she loved the sunshine and fresh air.
