I think I've had backwards honeymoon periods quite honestly. Both were total brats when they moved in!!! Now they are great! (Well most of the time....want your laundry done Angie? LOL) But regardless, I do think they change as they become more comfortable in the home, I just don't think it's always the "best behavior ---> true personality" scenario. I think, just like you or I would be, they are scared to be thrown into a situation of living in a strange place with strange people. If their personality dictates that that is a best behavior or worst behavior situation varies with each fid.
Well the honeymoon is over my relatively quite b&g has left the building. In her place a laughing talking comedian has arrived. The clown who has joined the family is more than welcomed and seems to know that we find her new antics amusing. She is rolling around on her cage laughing and talking up a storm. She stops for a scritch and kisses but the fun continues when she is on us. I have heard more words in the last 12 hrs than in the last 12 days. It is so nice to see her acting the fool and enjoying herself. She is even starting to answer you when you say hello. Enjoys playing peek-a-bird with her blanket.Which she takes every where with her. She fits right in with Silly Simon, crazy Hedi and Kooky Keke. We have a habit of giving everyone in the family more than one name. I look forward to this new

[quote=Irish;7440] Nowadays, he just uses the ones he needs to communicate with us: "Cracker?" "FIRE" (as in he wants me to spontaneously combust! LOL!),
i guess ivy seems a bit of a "reverse" case as well. it took her a while to open up, 2-3 months. seems like she gets more confident in different things each day. she's developing a real personality, with likes and dislikes. she also screams less over time, like she starts to understand we aren't leaving the room forever. she used to go NUTS when i went to the bathroom or something like that and now she occupies herself on her gym. she's an amazing little girl.
