OK now I am Confussed. They sell pvc stuff for birds at pet stores like petsmart and stuff. What about small birds? Is It ok for them? Like when I get my parrotlet, is it going to hurt him? They have some like shower stands made of pvc and we were thinking about making some stuff for him later with pvc.(perches).~Jenna

Just make sure its small diameter for his tiny feet Jenna, and wrap it with vet wrap so he doesnt slip. What some dont know is, a slippery surface is very bad for their feet and legs. They have to work very hard to stay on. I think, in my opinion, that if in general you bird is not a chewer the pvc is safe. If you see them making a snack of it, take it away. But overall I do agree with the environmental hazards of the crap. It definitely doesnt make a good meal!

A note about that: Pet stores sell TONS of stuff that I would NEVER give my birds. Make sure you do research on products before buying and use common sense!
