Clorox Green Works - Home

these cleaners are apparently made from all natural products. anyone know if these are bird safe? they SOUND good...

I am not sure... I know one time a salesman came to my house and showed me some cleaning product... he demonstrated it on a stain on the carpet, and it worked... I asked him is it toxic to anybody or anything, and would it be safe for my birds. Right then and there, he sprayed three good sprays in his mouth!

It was all natural, completely safe, etc. I ended up buying a gallon of it and it was great. I never got around to buying it again... I forget what it was called (this was about a year ago).

Maybe you could e-mail Clorox and ask if it's something they wouldn't mind ingesting. LOL!

I am unsure though... others may have better opinions.

hm, that data sheet seems to be concerning it's pure state though. i wonder what the effects are in diluted form.

Not sure about the effects in it's diluted state. All I could find out about it is that Clorox says that the preservative, Kathon, will biodegrade within 28 days.

I don't know about the 'bird safe' nature of them, but can vouch for their functionality. They DO work well, and have pleasant odors- Much better than most 'chemical' cleaners. They are safer, and do biodegrade, but remember that just because something is natural doesn't make it safe- Poison Dart frogs & Cobra venom are 100% natural, too

I use just plain white vinegar for the windows and warm water with a splash of dishwashing detergent and a few drops of clorox (regular old clorox) for the walls, cages, etc. It works just fine, it's cheap and safe. The bowls I wash with dishwashing soap just like I do my dishes except for the canaries' that are made of plastic and those I wash everyday but also soak overnight in hot water with a splash of Clorox, rinse with a lot of water and soak again in hot water with some baking soda added to it about once a week to make sure no bacteria of fungus is growing in them.

oh, i will always use such things too for cleaning bird stuff. i am just looking for floor/furniture/etc cleaners for my house that are also safe for the birds. it never feels like vinegar and GSE really do the trick.

Emily, how about heavily diluted Simple Green or Murphy's Oil Soap? I have also used Pet Focus for cleaning floors, it works great.
