I know a lot of our laws are different - but not exactly which ones. However it is illegal to have a 'concealed' weapon or most weapons in Canada. Pepper spray is only a weapon - I don't think you can cook with it. Spray glue is not a weapon but can be used very effectively as one.

The law does not always go in the victims favour. I think I'd really lose it, if I got charged with assault when trying to defend myself.

My gosh, that's horrible! Now I'm really leaning towards getting Blondie and Dagwood micro-chipped!

We all hope that our birds and the other animal residents in our homes will look after each other. I live in the country and my neighbors are so good they wouldn't hesitate to check out a strange car. They have been known to phone and make sure we have company when they see a car they don't know. Some would call them nosy neighbors but I call it caring for others we would do the same for them. We did have someone try and break in to our house and the neighbor knew we weren't home so they called the police (he was 12 at the time). I am not sure that I could stop talking about either of my babies though. I don't know enough about the micro chips. Can the info be changed once they are put in the bird.? If not and you buy a re homed bird how would you hope to get your bird back and it doesn't seem practical to put in another chip nor fair to the bird. In the end we can just do our best to keep everything in our lives safe.

A good watch dog like a Doberman would be a real deterrent to robbers looking for birds, I would think. Unless one enters with a gun, it's very hard to get past one of these dogs.

I learned how to shoot a handgun last weekend. We have always had shotguns and rifles, but not a hand gun. I am a good enough shot! lol I can shoot 11 in a row. At least I would have them dancing!! hahahaha! Better not mess with my bird!
