Default The Aviator Bird Flight Line

The Aviator Bird Flight Line is a tangle proof system allowing a pet bird to fly unrestricted. It’s light weight elastic cording allows safe flight and encourages proper flight behaviors. The Aviator Flight Line attaches to the wrist strap of the Aviator Harness.

I never thought about someone letting go of the leash! Not worrying about holding the line is a great innovation.

I was thinking about getting a retractable dog leash to attach the aviator harnesss wrist strap.... Do you think thats just as safe?? Or is it worth the extra money for this?

josh, i would think the weight of the clip on a dog leash would be hindering. but that's just my guess.

Aviator looks like a good idea. It seems there are no clips that can be taken off. My fear with a harness is that my birdie can undo it and undress himself.

Josh,I haven't tried this Flight Line yet. The Aviator Harness is designed with no clips or fasteners and is really light weight. I'm assuming with all the research that went into it, the Flight Line would be designed the same way. It has an elastic cording, which wouldn't jolt, or throw the bird off balance suddenly while flying when coming to the end of the line. It does seem pricey though.

I use a retractable dog leash that has the clip removed and attach it to the wrist loop of the leash by pulling through the loop of the leash (where the original clip was) and then pulling it back over itself. It is safe, secure and in no way will it come undone. It is actually kind of a pain pulling the wrist loop over the plastic body of the leash!

Jerry and I took Pico out last week (while we picked black berries) and flew him at the park with this setup and it worked great. If the rain hadn't started, I was going to take Keli out today.

Deb, do you use the Aviator Harness?

I LOVE THE AVIATOR HARNESS!!!!! It is escape proof! You can use the retractable dog leash the vidoe that comes with it says you can, but they also came up with there own version so it is longer than you average dog leash, that's the only difference, the longer dog leashes become too heavy. All they did was use the longer yet lighter lead. It's funny thou...Eve has NO desire to fly outside! I try and try, but nope. I guess he figure I fly inside all day, what is so special about outside? Most the out door flight training is based on recall and your bird feeling insecure so there is a strong desire for your bird to fly to you when you place it some where. Vasa's don't have this instinct since there is no pair bonding. So it works against me. Eve will happy fly away from me to a bench on the harness, but come back? Why?
