ahh Bee, see I needed everyones help...there are some things I am not sure of and thus we can all learn from eachother!!!!

Everyone, thank you for writing. I did not put peroxide on his wound because I could not find it. I know we had some, but where it is?
I put the aloe on it as soon as it happened. He actually let me too, which was amazing. He is holding it up, probably cuz its sore, but he is using it, and it didnt change his nightly rountine. I will keep an eye on it, and check for infection. Its not swollen or anything, so thats a good sign also.
ahhhhhhhhhhh sybling rivalry.
I am going to get some neosporin Gel tho next time I am out. I didnt relize I got the cream this time around. I have always used that in the past.

I remember lookin at the two in the store, trying to figure out which one was suggested to use. I thought it was the creme, but I have used the gel forever, and feel safe with that.

Okay. I actually used the gel before and thought I read somewhere that you should use the creme. I guess either are safe. I just know Oliver healed so quickly. At the risk of being gross, his foot looked like it had gone through a meat grinder.

Lisa, I hope Sterling is feeling much better today! I have never heard of the Neosporin gel and have always read to use the creme, not the ointment.

Hi Lisa,

I don't have any additional advice for Sterling's "owie" but wanted to say I hope he's feeling better today and to give the little guy some extra skritches from me.

Sorry Stirling has an injury. I've had this type of thing happen more than once......when you have more than one bird it is bound to happen.

Hope he's fine soon!!

Hugs,

Mary

I hope stirling feels better soon! I have a question too, I have an aloe plant, today I noticed Jack, my b&g, has a little bit of skin that looks irritated on the skin on his face by his beak, instead of being white, it is pink and looks like a little skin got rubbed off somehow. Could I break a stem/leaf/stalk ( I have no idea what they are called) off the aloe plant and use the gelly stuff inside of it on the irritated area on Jacks face? Thanx!

I'm a firm believer in Prep H.I've used it on the birds for years for open wounds, broken toes,a broken leg and any facial sores.I have tubes laying all over the house for incase of emergency.
