I have used Dr Sam Backos and can personally recommend him also.!

I as well have used him, until I moved a little bit farther north, but I would recommend him as well.

To the North in Loxahatchee is an excellent certified avian vet. Her name is Dr. Susan Clubb. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Check her website for qualifications: too many to list but a few include:
PDD research at Milo's Ranch, staff vet at Parrot Jungle, numerous studies and articles and co-authered "Psittacine Aviculture"

In addition her "examine table" side manner is exceptional.

- Unfortunately she does not have 24 hour emergency service (she recommends calling Dr. Backos) - I use her and Dr. Backos (who I also think very highly of).
