Default Runny Nose

ivy is going to see her vet tomorrow (too late to go today), but i wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

my husband called me today while i was at work and said that ivy had a very runny, bubbly nose along with a quiet cough/wheeze. there seemed to be no other symptoms, and the runny nose/cough has cleared up since then. she is acting completely normal, playing and eating/drinking. her poop looks just fine.

we are keeping a close eye on her tonight and i am putting her to bed early with extra blankets on her cage.

any thoughts? i read it could be a vitamin a deficiency but since she is always stuffing her face with sweet potato, i doubt that's it. the two other things i read was allergies or a respiratory infection.

i'm attaching a few photos of what she looked like earlier, sorry for the blur.

Emily keep her warm tonight if you can. If she is truly sick and not just got something up the nasal path. I have a SIE that does that ALL the time. We ran him to the vet the first couple of times and it is just him, he does it ALL the time...but scared the crap out of me. I hope that is ALL that it is. But I would add some heat to her tonight until you can get to the vet tomorrow.

Sweet Ivy! Are you not feeling well? We are so sorry. Mom will get you to the vet in the morning. Hang in there Emily, I am sure she will be fine. I checked my books and you know everything they said. Let us know as soon as you find out something! We love Ivy!

Emily, try and keep here cage 85-87 degrees. Use a heat lamp or heating pad, only cover 3 sides of the cage. Covering 3 sides allows her to move away from the heat if she get to warm.

It looked like the discharge was clear, a good thing. Could she have dunked her head in the water bowl?

gary

she was nowhere near her water bowl when this happened, she was on her hanging gym.
