Default New emergency care articles

Hello. Linda Brink, director of Sunnyskies Bird and Animal Sanctuary, has written 4 new articles, that I think are appropriate and timely. I also think they are really good. I hope you find them useful.

Signs of Illness
Your Avian Vet
Bleeding
Special Care for Leg Injured Bird

The link provided in the "Your Avian Vet" article is outdated. For an up-to-date listing of veterinarians who have qualified to become a Dipl. ABVP in Avian Medicine, try this:

certification, species, credentialing, veterinary clinical practice, vet, abvp

Thank you, Sweet Marie, for the links to the articles. Definitely a good read!

Or you can go here (link below) to get all the current 2008 Avian Diplomates which I categorized by state. I got the list from the AMVA in February of this year.

Thanks, Karen and Eliza. I will just direct the article link to Karen's list of 2008 Avian Diplomates then, as that looks to be one of the more complete lists online. Land of Vos also has a good, updated one, also from February.

Randi you're more than welcome to copy that list. I'm sure there are a few more Diplmates available now being that the list is 6+ months old, but I have only been updating it once a year. The format that I get from the AVMA needs a few hours work to get it categorized.

Well, I just linked to PC's list for now... when I get an updated list, I will enter it - Land of Vos is not nearly as complete, does not even have Dr. Hess on the list, who was on Birds and Ways list. Thanks

Linda's on a roll, and has completed another article. Head Trauma - I learned from reading this, that after a hard collision, never to assume your bird is OK but to get it to the vet asap! Something I would have never known...
