Glad to hear Archie is doing well. As I said in my other post, I have seen mucus discharge at it's worst. There is no mistaking it, when it gets bad it is horrible to witness. In fact it was when I saw Manau at that stage and it happened all within a day believe it or not, that I finally decided enough was enough with her. I took her to the vets and they advised that they could give antibiotics but it would probably only give her another 2 weeks if that, along with having to have a beak trim which would have stressed her more. She was euthanized that night. I couldn't wipe her mucus anymore, I couldn't see her hunched up, shivering and feverish anymore.

Yeh, I know about mucus. Sticky rotten stuff.

A number of posts have been written, here and on other boards, of birds with clear nasal discharges. According to several vets I have spoken to, absent any infection, it is something that happens, in response (usually) to an irritant. Allergies are often manifested differently. If you notice a tail bob, or if the discharge closes off the nares or becomes opaque, that should be cause for real concern. Always, when it comes to health issues, you cannot get a diagnosis over a message board, but need to go to your vet for an examination and assessment.
