Here is a couple of pictures of this black beauty.

He is totally blind from being hit by the truck but i rebuilt his beak and it looks and feels like the real thing(he can eat now too)

he is learning my yard so he can get use to where his food is but he is as free as he can be(he uses his new beak like a blind person uses a stick to get around and he does pretty good)

That is so cool, John! What do you feed him? So what are his long term prospects? Will he be staying with you permanently?

We have only started seeing Turkey Vultures in this part of the country the last couple of years or so. Fascinating birds.

Wow! That is a cool looking bird. Will he always be blind or will he recover some sight John?

Glad you were able to fix him up John. What a shame he lost his eye sight though. Any hope there for some recovery?

We see a lot of Turkey Vultures in our Western New York area. Their wing spans look as big as an Eagle to me. About how much do they weigh?

Ok first things first LOL

He is a black vulture not a turkey vulture, A turkey vulture has a red face and is smaller.

he will never see again and i am in the process of finding a zoo or education program that will take him.

i used fiberglass cloth and a new type of superglue that doesnt break down over time then shaped it with a dremmel after it set up(looks like the real thing now LOL)

This is really fascinating. Thanks for saving his life, John. Are his talons really sharp? You don't seem to be bothered while holding him. I would think they would be since aren't they their "tool" so to speak?
