Too hard to diagnose anything without seeing your bird or at least some pictures.
I have hands on experience with mucus discharge, but never from the ears. I would err on the side of caution and if you cannot find a reason externally and the discharge is still there after a couple of hours, go to your Vet!!!

Sorry, hubby was landscaping and cut thru internet wire so have not been on the board for awhile! Jazz is doing great! No signs of anything around his ear opening.I check everytime i am near him which is constantly!! I will be taking him into the vet next week for nail clipping so i will definitely talk to him about it! Thanks for all the replies!
