Default Did she hurt her wing?

Humphrey just had a bath, tried to fly, then hit my friend's foot lightly in flight. Now she's drying off and it looks like one wing is hanging lower than the other. I don't know if the flight feathers are just tangled/out of proper sequence. It's late here, I don't think any vets will be open, please give me your thoughts.

Well, it's been a couple of hours, how is Humphrey doing now? I would think she could have gotten her feathers out of whack, but should have them sorted out fairly soon. Hope she's doing ok!

Thank you for writing - you were right. It turns out, she was just so soaked, her wings were hanging heavy and had gotten 'tangled' a bit. She is dry, preening, with wings at normal position.

You know how sometimes you just get something in your head and start to panic? That's what happened. She is fine.

Thank you for writing.

Michele

I'm glad too! Michelle, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't find something to worry about with at least one of mine. They are so tough, yet so fragile.

There's an old saying here, "light as a feather".
I just finished reading this thread, I am pleased all worked out well, birds will flap and sun before attempting to fly after a good rain spell and or in your case a good soaking bath.
I admire your Keen observation and your true concern for your little one.
Take Care
