Chance has Bacteria in her crop, all blood work is done and found negative.
The Vet seems to think its from water, she said this bacteria is found in common water, When asked why all of our birds aren't sick, her reply, "good question".
Chance weighed in this morning at 104 grams before feeding & meds
I could be wrong but I believe this bacteria has come from these (home made) pumpkin seeds, Chance is the only bird that eats these seeds, Chance is the only bird sick.
I have never made home made pumpkin seeds, I watched my Grandmother once, the seeds are washed in water then laid out to dry to plant next year, the seeds we have here show no burning as if (oven dried).
I know for human consumption the seeds are soaked in Brine before oven baked.
I could be wrong but doesn't oven baking kill bacteria?
For 17 years now our birds have drank the same water.
The meds are working, chance is doing well, I guess we are switching to bottled water for the birds.

glad to hear that she'll recover... interesting about the pumpkin seeds... what about raw organic p-seeds you can get at the store? i bought a bag (mainly for myself, but you know how things go with birds around)... should i keep them for myself (and therefore lock them up somewhere?! )
