Josh, for the drafty door, take a towel & roll it up & shove it across the bottom of the door. That should help & it'll save your toes.

One thing everyone should have on hand to is ,go to a hunting section in the store and pick up some feet and hand warmers,if you were to loose heat put your bird in its carrier with a blanket and you can stick the hand feet warmers on the bottom of the cage and the sides,this will generate heat for them.

We're going through the same thing Camille! We're also in Manhattan, KS. We lost power late Monday night. I had put the heater up to 80 degrees, by morning we were down to 65. We took all our birds to a friends house for a night, we now have a generator going and were able to bring them home. I can't believe how long we've been without power! All of our birds seem to be doing good though, they're glad to be back home.

BTW, I found a Parrot Chatter business card in Animal House Pets (when they were still open...) a few months ago, just now thought to check out this site. Looks like a nice forum!

I'm so glad you're able to run a generator and stay at home. It's no fun packing up and moving every few days! I hope your power is back on soon! All I know is if my heat bill isn't darn close to $0 next month somebody is going to get an earful!

Yeah, crazy about Animal House Pets. That was where I usually got my bird stuff if necessary- usually I order online. I wonder what happened to all the animals in there...
