#2 | | | Re: What fruits and veggies do you feed? I don't think there is a fruit or veggie that Eve hasn't tried! lol So as to not just list a bunch of stuff since it would be way to long. I'll what today's breakfast was.
strawberry, orange, granola/apricot baby food, birdie muffin made with....egg with shell, fennel, parsley, carrots, carrot tops, corn, apple, cinnamon, sunflower, walnuts, cranberries, and mango.
As for getting them to try new foods. you could try making toys out of them. Things like carrots made into perches, apples made into food dishes and filled with their regular food. hang wet green from the tops of the cage. Other methods would be to have your bird join you for meals...monkey see monkey do. Play with sizes shapes and temps of food. for instance Eve will only eat broccoli if it is steamed. And he like his food diced, not in large chunks. |

#3 | | | Re: What fruits and veggies do you feed? Ollie is very picky as well. I have a much easier time getting her to eat fruits. She loves, loves, loves apple. I've tried putting a little peanut butter on it for her, but she hates anything that sticks to her beak.
Things she almost always likes: pomegranate (an absolute favorite, but not in season until around Oct-Jan) apple, strawberry, pear, grapes, corn (only on the cob), snap peas, carrots as long as I attach it to her cage somehow, sweet potato (cooked, mashed, and sometimes with a little fresh squeezed orange juice on it)...
Things she sometimes likes and sometimes won't touch: orange, kiwi, egg with shell, kale, mustard greens, parsley, cranberries, squash, broccoli, sprouts, cinnamon...
Can't think of anymore right now, but these are the things that I offer her most often.
And of course some days I couldn't get her to eat any of this stuff if I hid it in a popsicle-she frustrates me often! |
