Post What do you think.....

about a journal sub-forum which is soooo important when you visit your vet or just so you remember the first word your fid chatted, when they first took flight, or pics as they mature. You could update your birds sub-forum thread/journal as you like; daily, weekly, monthly, etc. You can post stories, pictures, behavior changes or concerns, new toys, vet visits, weights, molting, good days, bad days, hormonal changes, let your imagination go wild! Would you like this option on PC so you can check our forums, post, and log in your journal entries in one visit! What do you think?

Might be a good idea the only record I keep right now is breedings records and weights of babies. I have not thought about the pets.

Oh!! Great idea! That would be wonderful! I have kept journals for years and it is so fun to go back and look over them! It is amazing the things I forget that at the time I thought I would never forget them!

I am thinking it would be great to have a journal for when our fids have to be rehomed for any reason as well, it sure would be of great help to a new owner in keeping our birds healthier and happier.

I think that's a great idea! So how would it work, would you be the only person who could post entries in your journal? Would you have multiple journals for multiple birds, or one journal that could be broken down into sections for multiple birds?

I've kept a journal - I like doing it.

I started when I got Laker. I added new pages by the month but this year I have changed it to quarterly.

The pages are short or long. The pages a can be about one or more birds or events. In this other case the forum has a comments attachment. So you can view & edit your journal/diary & view comments. They also have a homepage that is more general & lets everyone know what you do & have. So each member gets a homepage & an endless number of diary pages.

I loved posting in there & still do. The one downside I've noticed is that eventually all the members seem to only post on their own pages & rarely post anything in the forums. They expect people to check their diaries for updates & will post threads directing you to their latest entries. It doesn't have to happen that way but I guess it could.

Maybe ours should have a a limit of how many pages per bird - so you have to edit & link to your own threads.
