#12 | | | Re: Share your successes in getting your birds The hot sauce recipe - there's not much to it, I only make it because there is probably too much salt in commercial hot sauce. I take pepper flakes, chop up a few cayenne and/or jalapeno peppers, a few crushed garlic cloves, and apple cider vinegar. I shake it in a bottle a couple of times a day until it tastes good, usually for a few days. That's all. The birds will eat food I sprinkle it on, they won't eat otherwise. It has the ac vinegar, which is a cleanser and adjusts the ph balance, and the peppers, which are very high in vitamin c. |

Seymour loves hot sauce, he always says "Mmm" when I use it on my food. Thats his way of begging. |

Need to know the answers before I start experiementing around, thanks! | Its just your basic whole wheat wrap. I drip the calcium on it and put in anything, sweet potates with sprouts mixed in are a favorite. There was a post about the calcium a week or so ago in the Parrot Chatter forums.
For the coconut oil, I try not to use too much. Its between 1/2 tsp or 1 tsp, depending on the bird. Its easier to measuer in liquid form rather than solid. I do put it over their warm veggies, and it tastes really good (I put it over mine too, lol)! I feed it to Luy straight sometimes and she flips out. I don't htink there's such a thing as too much, but I wouldn't give more than say, a tablespoon, everyday. |
