Default Re: Seed Mix Questions

My mix is just seeds, nuts and TOP pellets. Sometimes I buy the stuff separately and mix it myself, sometimes I buy commercial organic seed mixes (Totally Organic Seed Mix) and just 'doctor' it by adding nuts and pellets. But I never, ever give them any mix with any dehydrated fruit or veggie in it. Not good for them.

Default Re: Seed Mix Questions

What kind of mix do you feed?
I feed a mix that I concoct myself in their cages. It is Higgins True Fruit and Boca nuts. I add Zupreem pellets.
As "treat" on their stands I use Hagans tropical blend and a mix called Custom III. These are mixes of fruits, nuts seeds and some crunchy stuff.

Is it clean?
The mix in the cage is but the stuff on the stands is kind of dusty and crumby at times.

Is it vitamin fortified?
I am not sure but I think the Hagan's is.

Does it have granules or biscuits?
The custom mix has biscuits but I remove them. The Hagan's has a kind of pellet or crunchy in it.

Did you use other mixes and why did you switch?
The only thing I have really changed is the pellets I use. I do sometimes switch their "treats" but just to give them a variety.
