Default Re: salt

Years ago we had to change things around here for us humans [life before birds] & eat only fresh or home baked. It was a real challenge for me as I had become dependent on a few processed foods. I got into not using salt at all - leaving it on the table for others to use as they wanted. I am the only one who hardly uses the stuff - but after a thyroid scare I did return to iodized salt now & again. The only things we buy pre-made is bread & cereal & pasta.

When my son buys a snack I am always knocked sideways by the outrageous about of salt in packaged & snack foods. I have to drink water to enjoy it.

I am so pleased to know more about the 'salts' in veggies - Thanks again Bea. I personally have been working on a more veggie dominated diet. The Budgies really only get excited about fresh greens - very little interest in cooked except for noodles.
