I had forgotten I had that article until I went through some files. It's been a while since I've read it, but it was a good refresher. There's a couple of points that piqued my interest when I first read it. Calcium being one and;

I have read a few articles about Macaws not being entirely influenced by Photoperiod. Their natural seasonal changes only vary the day length by about 30-45 minutes. I still follow sun-up/sun-down fairly close, but on the shortest winter days when it's dark by 5PM, we're always running a little late.

Good information. Very good article for anyone with producing females or hen about to come into the age where this may be a problem.
