I think I am going to keep mixing. I'm using Harrison's Hi-Po, Kaytee Organic and Lafeber. It seems they like them all. Some days they'll eat one over the other but I'm not seeing that they're entirely boycotting any single one of them. They do get a bigger percentage of the Harrison's Hi-Po because I also use the Hi-Po mash in Birdie Bread.

I had kind of wanted to drop the Lafeber because they're not organic, but they like them....

Gezzz my two will ONLY eat Tropican.....we tried switching to Zupreem for a while for some variety and they both started losing weight, won't touch the stuff. They are uber picky.

Right now, I'm giving my Nanday Conure "Ruby" a mix of Roudybush Maintenance, Harrison's High Potency and a few Harrison's Power Treats, the later crushed because they come in only one size, too big for conures. The reason for the mix is because Ruby loves Roudybush, but I think that Harrison's is probably even better for him. Mixing them up gets him to eat at least some of the Harrison's along with the Roudybush. Eventually, I am hoping he'll convert to Harrison's entirely. At that point, I'll probably still give him Roudybush once in a while, as a treat.

Both Roudybush and Harrison's describe how to gradually convert one's birds over to a pellet diet. Visit their websites for more info.

I still offer Zupreen fruit with my Budgie's seeds. They eat fresh & some cooked foods but I'm still pretty 'flighty' about their nutrition. This year I have noticed them finally eating a fair amount of pellet. I am thinking of getting Harrisons - if I can find a Budgie type.

Bunny the Grey loved Harrisons apparently. She tossed her other pellets [in place of Harrisons] that came with her, on her visit to my home. She lived on broccoli, carrot, celery, cooked yams, many types of cereal [mostly puffed grains or corn flakes] almonds & pistachios while in my care. She was Ok short term at any rate. She stopped eating the pellets.

Jac, there's a good story on this page about converting two difficult Budgies to Harrison's.
