Default Parrots, Produce & Pesticides

THE KITCHEN PHYSICIAN III

Parrots, Produce & Pesticides
by Carolyn Swicegood

Article about the most toxic conventionally grown fruits and vegetables and the least toxic foods available. We most definitely should be buying organic fruits and vegetables that are on the most toxic list.

Add pears, potatoes and all lettuces to the list of very dirty crops which should always be organic for birds.

In this article it says asparagus is a good thing for our birds. Another thread here on PC talks about how it is not good for birds. So confusing.....

I agree...I have read a few articles that state Asparagus can cause stomach upset as well as articles where Asparagus is listed as a safe food as well.

Why risk it? If anybody says that something is not good, I don't give it to my birds. Plenty of other things they can eat...

I agree. I get very confused as to what is ok and what is not ok. Better safe than sorry!
