As far as nuts go I feed mostly almonds, some pinenuts,some walnuts (macaws only) and a rare pecan...looks like pistachios and hazelnuts are a pretty good option as well. Has anyone here fed either (in the shell) to IRN's or Ekkies? I find both have a hard time cracking the almonds but do pretty well with the pinenuts.

Kim I can't give any of my ringies whole Almonds (out of the shell but not broken up). Silk takes exception to them when they whole, and screams at them then flings them as far as she can. The other babes don't care for the whole kernal either, they just lean over and drop them down the grate without even nibbling on them now.If they are sliced its a whole 'nuther thing, though. Pinenutsare always a favorite too.
