Default Now it's nose drops

No sneezing for weeks now and guess what? Yesterday Spice started again. Last time I was at the vet she sent me home with nose drops if he started sneezing again as she said she didn't want to do antibiotic again. So 2 times a day poor Spice gets drops in both nostrils. We do this for 10 days. I feel like he has a chronic sinus problem. grrrr.

Oh no, poor Spice. That really stinks. Hopefully these nosedrops will be the last medication that he'll need for awhile.

Do you think this has to do with humidity?

Humidity could play a part. I mist every other day per dr. suggestion and whenever my husband or I take a shower , which is just about daily, the cage goes in the bathroom with us. We will moving to a place right on the water in a few months and I hope there will be more moisture in the air there. I am looking into a cool mist vaporizer, too.

That's strange - Poor Spice!

I can't think it's the air at this point. I know our Naturopath is against antibiotics - they can cause real backlash problems unless they're really necessary. I hope the drops work. Do you know what they are?

Could there be any reason he has this & the others do not?

Awww. I so don't envy you there. Giving my Linnie's meds in their mouth was bad enough, and even then they sneezed some of it back at me. I'd hate to actually be trying to keep it in their nose.

The drops are gentamicin sulfate. I think they are like eye drops. I think I have perfected holding his head still and actually find the drops in the nose are easier that med in the mouth.
I keep telling him I am so sorry and he gets millet after every dose.
the vet said it is not contagious which is why Sugar doesn't get it. She asked me all kinds of questions trying to pinpoint what is happening in his life to cause this and I could come up with nothing.

Gentamycin is an antibiotic but I guess they want topical rather than systemic. It is not quite as strong as some of the other oral meds like baytril.
