Correct, it is a mild antibiotic usually given for chronic conditions (I have two dogs that get Gentamicin drops in their eyes everyday).

Try putting a humidifier and an air purifier in the room where he is kept, it could be an allergic reaction... I've never heard of chronic sinusitis in birds.

Yes, Spice has been on Baytril 2x. The vet said because it was systemic she didn't want him on it again and I was to try the drops if the sneezing started again. We'll see how it goes.

Just 8 more days to go - hope it works this time. At least you're getting skilled at giving meds.

It could also be he needs just a nare flush. Some birds need it on a regular basis. Did the doctor look into this?

If a nare flush is a sinus flush the vet has done it twice. We are on day 3 of the drops and no sneezes so far today.. Of course because I am saying that he will sneeze his head off any minute now..
Have you heard of colloidal silver? Some others on another forum have had good luck using that so I thought I would try it if the drops don't do the trick.

Yes, a nare flush is the same as a sinus flush.

And, PLEEEEEASE, I beg you, do not use colloidal silver! It is a very tricky thing to use because it's basically a poison (the body cannot eliminate excess silver in the system) and there is no industry or goverment regulation whatsoever on these products so, most often, a product that is labeled colloidal silver is actually an ionic silver solution and it can have all different kinds of concentrations (from 30 to 20,000 ppm!). I have no idea why people are still using this dangerous compound after so many years of having excellent antibiotics and antifungals...

Now, don't misunderstand me, I use herbs and oils all the time. I come from an underdevelop country where they are used all the time. My greatgrandmother was known for her herbal knowledge and one of her sons had the biggest homeopathy and herbal store in the country so I grew up on natural remedies and I raised my daughter on them, too. But I would never use colloidal silver.

Oh wow. I'm glad I asked you. Hopefully these drops will do the trick, otherwise I guess it is back to the vet.
