Default molting, raise protein?

Well Ms. Kita has decided to start a molt, a real one this time. She molted out head feathers back in Feb. (or maybe March) but I think that was brought on by some high protein parrot biscuits I had given her.

So what do I increase to help this process? At first I thought protein because the feathers are protein, but now I'm not sure.

Yep. A bit. Of course like I always say (sorry) lol...with vegetable proteins. They are easier on the liver and kidneys than animal proteins. I'd use grains with adzuki, mung or lentils legumes. Mine love red lentils they are peppery. Combining 1/3 bean to 2/3 grain makes a complete protein chain. Like the seed mix you'd use to sprout, it's all grain almost. The TOP. You can soak about 12 hours and serve with the beans. Or even Kashi Grain mix that comes in the little pouches like oatmeal has alot of nice whole grains. Soaking or cooking till they are just chewable but they're healthier LIVE soaked not boiled, imo.

If you cant resist, some egg wont hurt but I only give it once a month. And for your guys I'd say the white not the yolk since they're older...

I've never seen that Kashi mix, I think they would like that. I'm going to find it. Thank you so much!

LOL Yeah the Kashi surprised me. Kashi Pilaf it's near the oatmeal stuff but in the organic or healthy type places. But even our Acme has it (Albertsons) ....

It's this one...I can microwave it real fast like under 5 minutes if I messed up and need something fast but I usually dont. And it comes out better on low defrost for about 7 minutes. But stove top is probably better.

I end up eating what the birds eat it's not bad LOL
