Like how was the nutritional deficiency stated? What elements too, like vitamin a ? I'd love to do a scraping on both of them if it'll reveal nutritional things since that's all I care about regarding bloods....THANKS | I'll get the details from my AV for you Cindy. I had the skin scraping done because of her dry skin, more-so than the feather loss. She regained her feathers right away but her skin remained extremely thick (in some areas) and dry. Her skin scrapings came back as; Hyperkeratosis from being Vit. A deficient. |

If she were breaking them off due to rough play I'd expect to see the feather be V shaped at the end and not a clean cut. | Karen, thank you, the breaks are at the stress bar mark, I didnt put 2 and 2 trogether though. I cant describe it, I'll have to get a picture, but they are clean cuts, kinda v-shaped I'd say. I'm glad its not unusual though for babies, thank you for easing my mind a bit. Do you think the wing feathers getting kinda comb l;ike on the outsides are for the same reason? |

Funny that his tail is decent because apparently, he's in charge of all tails. |

Out of curiosity did she have a preen gland problem, too? | No, Kady had that.
But we got that under control now. I am forever trying to push Vit. A. |

I showered her before work this mornin and her flihts are much better now. | Josh I'm seeing stress bars at each break. It's a weak point in the feather. Combine that with some rough play and the fact that young macaws just don't have a clue how to work that tail to protect it, is causing the breaks at those points. |
