Default Ivy's Results FINALLY!

for those of you that haven't been following, ivy went to the vet over two weeks ago for a runny nose that she had for about half a day. i finally got the results of the culture today, and they DID find bacteria. the doctor told me a long and unpronounceable name of the bacteria he felt was the culprit. he said often humans and dogs carry it on their skin, and it's pretty much impossible to say where it came from exactly. but he said the baytril would have cleared it up by now, and that she only needs to come back in if she starts displaying symptoms again.

so that's good i guess. thoughts?

I agree with Camille, you shouldn't worry anymore Emily. As long as he's right and the bayril cleared it up by now, you two are just fine. And thank God!

Good sign, most probably cleared up. Maybe Ivy would like to start eating plain yogurt once a week or so. Yogurt is good at getting the good bacteria up which prevents the bad bacteria from ever growing.

When it comes to birds, BeneBac is better than yogurt. And congrats on the results, hope it was just one of those things that doesn't happen again.

Good news, that it wasn't that serious! And I also prefer benebac. You also might want to consider feeding immune building/cleansing foods such as garlic, cranberries, red cover, and rose hips to name a few. And yes garlic is not only fine for birds, it is extremely beneficial in terms of health.
