Default Cleaning products

I caught this article on cleaning products in our local paper last week and I've wanted to post it. Although they don't talk about effects on birds it is interesting reading.

Interesting article Paul. I'm disturbed to see that Tea Tree Oil and Lavender are considered endocrine disruptors. Been trying to get away from using so many chemicals, specifically shampoos with the Laurel Sulphates. Now it looks like my "Organic" shampoo with Tea Tree Oil may not be any better.

I think a lot of us, myself included, equate the words "organic" with "safe", and a lot of manufacturers prey on this. We've used tea tree oil in a shampoo for our Springer spaniel. She has a terrible skin condition known only in Springers (I can pick em huh?). The stuff works great, but now we have to weigh some of the risks.
I was concerned about birds breathing in some of these products and their possible effects.
