It is all contour feathers and down from what I have seen. She has only lost one primary feather since being with us and I think she lost it due to being clumsy!  About four days ago I realized she was COVERED with pins and have been gently petting her all over to help loosen them up. She is sweet as can be and lets me try and help her.

Your story sounds VAGUELY similar to mine. I'm 20 too...and have a bird....and your birds male.....creeeeeeepy *Twighlight zone*

Sept he has had no dietary issues, he's a little piggy and hasn't quite learned the snort noise yet but he's gotten close.

I've no clue I was wondering the same thing but I've taken to putting the humidifier by his cage and he has improved tremendously.
