My vet is GREAT. She does PBFD rescue herself. I wouldn't trust Peggy or Pi'ere with any other vet though in the practice. Peggy's last trim was a nightmare, but only because of the PBFD, the quick grows as fast as the beak itself. My vet will give me any kinds of medications or advise over the phone for these birds without a consult. I won't be going in the room this time, I had to nurse Manau through it every time, I did Peggy through it. My daily life consists of some kind of blood loss with these birds, I need a break.
I think I have done well so far coping with all this blood.
The margarine, I figure these birds are on death row anyway.
The small amount of marg and toast they have every second day or so is not going to make too much difference to them compared to what PBFD is doing.
Something is keeping Peggy alive, Cindy and I are both surprised she is still healthy and as active as she is. The marg obviously has had no impact on her. Who knows maybe the trans fats might be helping her fight the disease. I am not discounting your advise, in the case of healthy birds it is well heeded. In the case of mine, I just do what I can and if they seem to be healthy then I keep going with what I am doing. I hope you can all understand this attitude and bear with me as I do my best for these birds.
Peggy just woke up and gives kisses to Ruby. |

If it margarine she loves, let her have it! That poor little bird needs every ounce of anything she can get to give her joy! You keep up the good work! Quote:
