Sue, sending positive thoughts that the vet will be able to fix him up quickly with the least amount of stress on him as possible!

I guess you trust your Vet - but after Susan's horror show with Boca, I wouldn't even leave my Budgies alone with a Vet.

But I know what you're talking about - the blood thing & the beak trim ... hope it all goes well. My sympathies to the Vet.

I know we sometimes get to read about the Vets that don't make the grade, but there are many excellent vets and I consider myself lucky to have one of those great ones! I am able to call her anytime night or day. I have her home and cell numbers. She calls me periodically for updates and always calls before she leaves town for a vacation or a conference to check on the K's and to see if I am concerned about anything. She has offered to come to my home so Kady doesn't get too stressed by going to the office. I could go on and on about all she has done above and beyond what she's expected to do. To sum it up though, I consider my relationship with my AV a privilege and I couldn't imagine not having her here helping to see that K&K get the best.

My Dad & oldest brother are Vets - but not avian. Unfortunately I know too much sometimes about the 'breed'. Surprisingly a lot are not animal or people persons - just like human doctors.

& of course they do make mistakes.

It really is important to always have a trust relationship - even if it's your mechanic.

Vets come in all shapes and forms, some are great, some are terrible, some do it out of love for animals and some do it out of purely mercenary motives. And some are good and some are bad and some are just plain terrible and some are outstanding. I also have an excellent avian vet but there's been some that, as we say in Spanish: It's better to lose them than to find them.

I've lost track of Australia time. Pi'ere is in my thoughts. I'm hoping the appointment has gone well.
