that Parrotlets were the second smallest parrot, I just had to know what was the smallest!!

Smallest Parrot
[contributed by Harold Armitage, Wild Macaws Wild Macaws]

* The Pygmy parrots of Papua and nearby islands. Genus Micropsitta. There's six different sorts - Yellow-capped, Buff-faced, Finsch's, Geelvink, Meek's, Red-breasted - all around 3" long (8cm). Thought to eat lichens and mosses but not much is known about their lifestyles.

Love the Spix's macaws... They are so beautiful! Believe it or not, there is a 2.5 acre breeding facility in the Middle East designated to them!

I love the Spix's as well. Hey I read that article about the breeding facility in Bird Talk. Was very interesting!
