I would like your opinions on this, . I just don't know what to think.

I sold one of my Blue Headed Pionus chicks a couple of weeks ago to what I thought was a great home, I delivered the chick myself and checked that everything was ok. They had a great cage with lot's of toys and asked loads of questions on what the chick liked to eat. They rang me the day after I took the chick and said they thought it was great. I rang them last week and everything was still good, they needed to work on stopping the chick landing on their heads but apart from that, it was good. I said ring me if you need help or any advise, like I always do.

Yesterday I noticed an advert for 'my' chick, they're asking more money than they paid. I can't get an answer by phone or e-mail. Does this seem odd to you guys???? I mean they only had her two weeks, it can't of gone that wrong in such a short time?????? I hate to think they just bought the chick to sell on!

Sadly, people do that kind of thing all the time. Have someone else call them from their phone and pretend like they are interested in buying him to see what they say.

if it is same bird do you have any recourse............

wow, that sucks.... i'd be very sad and, quite frankly, furious about it... i'd have a friend call too to see what they're asking, why they're selling etc... are you willing to get the baby back

I like Grandma's suggestion. It may be the only way to find out what's really going on.

I am from canada so am not sure the laws. how are they selling.. through local paper or craigs list. if craigs list is there not a thing they require. if its a local paper i would phone and let them know..... that they are selling by rights stolen birds and trying to make a buck.... put an ad in the paper that may prevent preople from buying and tell them to drop the bird off at a local pet store and no charges will be laid..... here we have 7 days to change our mind one way or another......... surley there must be something that can be done...... is it an overly large amount that they are trying to resell... contact the bird conservation on reselling of birds.......... as i said i am from canada so have no idea what your laws are............ good luck...i wish i lived closer

I would probably buy it back. Flipping birds is common, unfortunately. Just like houses or cars.

It's sad, but also possible that they didn't start out with "flipping" in mind. But, they may have decided they really didn't want the bird after all, and "hmm, we could even make some money on this". Naturally, they wouldn't want to talk to you about it. You may have to pay more than you sold him/her for in order to get him back, but maybe you can gently shame them into doing the right thing. If not, you probably don't have much recourse.

I forgot to say I'd try and put a contract together for future sales that includes an agreement to not resell the bird within X amount of time that you will take them back. If you feel that way. Something like dog breeders try and do. Not sure exactly how that works but people can probably advise you.And I would definitely start charging more, maybe you were being kind on your price hoping for good homes....

I got to speak with the chick owner, turns out she is frightened of the bird. It landed on her head a couple of times and she didn’t like it, her son gets on ok with the chick but it wasn’t meant for him and he doesn’t really want to keep one, he’s out with his friends most the time. She put the price up hoping she wouldn’t get any traders after it and could find it a good home. She is willing to try working with the bird some more, if it doesn't go that way I can buy it back at the price she paid.
