In the most recent Bird Talk magazine - the one with the male Ekkie on the cover - there is a little blurb about this artist and his website:

Big Feather Photos - CLose-up Photography, Parrot Feathers photos, Limited Edition Prints

Basically he takes close-up photos of the dropped feathers from his amazon and makes HUGE prints of them - fantastic pictures, that's my kind of art. I can't afford the prices he's asking to buy one of his, but I'd think this is a fairly easy thing one could do on their own. Arrange feathers as you'd like them, take a picture, adjust in Photoshop or something similar, and blow it up as big as you'd like and matte and frame it. It's on my list of things to try one of these days. Could do one for each bird.

I have one feather from each of our pets in our Christmas Wreath . We keep the real nice ones in a couple vases on the entertainment center, And now I'll keep the others and send them in.

I get a reasonable number of hits on my macaw page and added this as a link with a plea for people to donate.
