Default What Bird Foods?

My dad is opening his pet store June 1st and he's basically put me in charge of getting the info for what the best foods to have in there would be. Soooo instead of me dealing with it, i'm passing it onto you guys to tell me all the bird food we should have in there how's that sound?

But seriously...could you guys list all the bird foods (brands/sizes/etc.) we should stock in there? What brands of food should we definately NOT carry?

Oh, and I almost forgot....

The only pellets Ollie will eat are Zupreem...so she would demand that you carry that!

You know what I would love? I would love if the pet stores around here would listen to MY suggestions, and at least try to stock the food that I want to feed my bird. Keep that in mind!

Oh definately! This is not going to be like all those other crappy petstores, that I have seen my whole life, I won't let it happen. If I don't like how something is being ran, and my dad won't do anything about it, I can make him...hehehe guilt trip always works, or not working for him anymore, and my favorite....not talking to him, or giving him 1 word answers on the phone abd I "can't" come over (divorced parents) or talk anymore cause i'm "busy"...hehehe he can't survive without his best buddy am I horrible?

LOL Shane, you're quite the manipulator. We're probably related...

I think you should also carry Beak Appetit, and other cookables like that. Dried fruit/veggie/nut mixes as well.

Mine love Zupreem too (though for some reason one cage of tiels won't eat red this week and the other cage won't eat yellow). Lots of millet and cuttlebone -- and sell them in bulk. If you have the right market, I think you could almost do a salad bar/hot food (beans, rice, etc) for the birds.

Also like seed and dog/cat kibble available by the pound. My cats are very fussy about their litter, but that is a WHOLE other story.

Shane - check out my website under foods - that will help you a lot - I've attached two different categories. This should keep you busy for a few days!

I was going to suggest you check out upscale bird store websites, BP in particular, but I didn't know if that was okay or not! Glad you suggested it Kathie!

I would carry foods such as Harrisons, TOP (Totally Organic Pellets) Foundation Formula (spicers and original) Zupreem natural, Bird-elicious, and Hagen pellets. Seed mix wise, I would carry seed that does not have a lot of fillers, additives, etc. My personal recommendations would be Dr. Harveys, TOP seed, Bird Elicious carries seed aswell. Goldenfeast Golden Obles and seed mixes. Cooked mixes such as Crazy Corn, Beak Appetite, etc.
Avian Naturals has some good seed mixes as well.
