Default very interesting, maybe.

I got my call back from the AV and it seems Benji is a little low in the vitamin and mineral department. Seems he only eats the goody part of the blends and such. I have not ever tried Harrison's because it is so expensive. The AV gave me some, fine and coarse. I guess there is no medium.
Cricket goes at it like everything else. Benji gave me a dirty look and eats it. I put fine in Zoey and Sophie's cage and then add a few of the coarse size in the morning.
Zoey will grab a big piece. Climb up to the top of her rope perch, take a hold of the piece and sit there and eat it like a connoisseur. As I am watching this, there goes Sophie over to her bowl. She takes a big piece up and heads to the top of HER rope perch............ where she promptly crunches down on it ans swallows what she can but of course most goes to the bottom of the cage!
These guys are so fun to watch!!

valo always got zupreem pellets, and the last time i was at the vet i picked up some harrison's..... now he hardly looks at the zupreem [good example for "great job, bee, great job.... spend some more money on the fids" LOL... ] i'm glad he likes them though... pita won't look at harrison's though

your fids sound like a lot of fun.... let me know if they need a vacation in colorado

my birds are ALL on Harrison's...it may take a little transition time but don't give up. I find that with harrison's I have so little waste that it is no more expensive to feed than any of the other pellets and blends. good luck, let us know how it goes!

It took me a long time to persuade my birds to eat any pellets at all, but now they'll eat a little Zupreem (especially if I feed it to them by hand like a treat). I've also been trying to get them to accept Harrison's, but for quite a while they kept spitting it out. It has a less-crunchy texture than the Zupreem and I think that's what they didn't like. But they're finally starting to accept it. Everybody but Mims anyway...

Jim, ours are offered the Harrison's Pepper pellets. Some break them in half, some chew around the edges and leave the rest, some throw them out, some drop them, some play with them, and some eat them! LOL It is difficult at best, to determine how much they are really taking in. I offer them in addition other healthy foods. In my experience, if you have a healthy eater you are lucky, otherwise ensure they get supplements somehow. We have a very picky eater scarlet rescue who we have had to give vitamin shots.
