Default Uh oh...I'm in trouble...must resist...

The Aviary where I volunteer now has hatchlings of all my my dream birds.....
  • 2 Alexandrine babies which you all already know about
  • 3 Ekkie babies (one feathered Vos girl and two unfeathered hatchlings) I want a male!
  • 2 four week old Blue-Throated Macaws!

How can I resist?! Especially the BTs!! Oh yea, I know how....if I brought another (few?!) baby(s) home my boyfriend AND Jasmine would HATE me *le sigh*

Oh man...the temptation!

If one of those ekkies ends up a boy...you gonna seriously consider it???

The BTs would be soooo tempting...*sighs*

Yep, you are in trouble! It is a known fact around here that I can't really go around baby birds (okay...any birds for sale, lol). Would your BF really freak out if you added a sweet little baby ekkie?

Missi--resistance is futile....if not this week, then next week or next year....mbs is relentless, insidious, and incurable. Might as well make the most of it! I say pick the one you would have the hardest time finding later, and go for it! Of course, you have to consider the source (me!) and know that the birds have more real estate in my house than I do. LOL

Oh I just don't know! I know Jasmine would be so pissed off. She hates other birds around her parronts and especially in her territory (which is the whole dang apartment!)
Selfishly, I really want more fids! I keep wondering if she'll grow out of her little snit when she's older. I told my boyfriend that we're definitely getting an Alex and a Macaw when we own our own house (whenever that may be). It just seems BTs are few and far between....I just love them......*I have not met the Ekkie chicks yet, first time Saturday!*

Yes, he would be disapointed in me because we're trying to get out of debt and he doesn't think the place is big enough for more fids. Also, he know how Jasmine has reacted to other birds in the past. I'm not saying that he wouldn't fall in love with it eventually. Maybe I need to just buy it all while he's at work and "surprise" him.....

You crack me up Kim! Okay, if I were to consider it that way then I'd be getting a BT baby....they want $3500 for them, where as there is a pet store in Ft. Myers that has like 4 one year old BTs and are discounted to either $1200 or $1999, I don't remember which price. Or maybe the Alex.....and the Ekkie boy.........

I'm going nuts! I want them all! Can't I just click my heels and own a house so I can have my dream flock now, now, NOW?!

I am going to melt and suffer Saturday when I have those 3 Ekkie babies in my lap.....

One more thing, there is a bird fair coming on March 25.....we NEVER have bird fairs down here in Naples........Bird fairs = cheap cages + everything else............

if you find the ruby red slippers--I want to borrow them next!!

Missi--if you go for the BT....evaluate the pro's and con's of purchasing from all available sources (money being impt but not neccesarily the MOST impt factor to consider) and make an informed decision...I have never seen a BT--I want to come visit when you bring yours home!!!

KIM! LOL You are SO bad! Honestly, I was thinking and I really don't think I will be able to get a BT right now Being that I'm in an apartment and probably will be for the next few years. I have researched that BTs are pretty noisy Macaws (as if any of them aren't! lol). Plus, when I get my Macaw, I want to keep him on the other side of the house than my Ekkie(s?), because Jazzy is timid of loud noise, that won't be possible in an apartment (well not one that we can afford, at least).

However, you can come down to visit me any Saturday at the Aviary and play with the BT babies They're be there for a while, I'm sure! We're open 10-4
