i should be mad at my parents but i know they had good intentions... last year when we had to put my dads dog to sleep my father was so lost and depressed so 2 weeks later i couldnt take seeing him like that i went out and bought him a new dog which he treats like a baby...so they thought they would do the same thing for me and went and put a deposit on a baby timneh ....awhile back before cosmo had passed my mom knew that i might be getting a disabled grey and when it fell through she knew then i really wanted a grey...well i did tell that was going to be my next bird...but i wanted a congo but i quess that will be my next bird...lol....my mom said the new baby is a male and he should be ready around 4/27 ...im so scared to get another bird afraid i will do something....i dont even know if im ready but now i dont have a choice...i know they did it cause they love me and know how this affected me i just wished they would of asked...
yest...i went to a bird store in shrewsbury and the guy had 3 congos...boy they didnt like me they were 4 months old...
the guy in the store said plants in a room with birds can asper...is this true?
i did talk to the vet last week and the vet in ny said they with all the findings he saw on paper...he would of said cosmo had asper...well we will find out soon....how long will a neurscopy take? thats what driving me nuts...
well i guess now i have to try to get everything ready for another birdie
any ideas?...lol

A necropsy should show tell tale signs of asper. ( i too beleive thats what it was from what you described when we talked)
It shouldnt take that long unless its not obvious and it was actually somthing else.

If your plants were in close proximity, and they had mold in the dirt. Yes.
Remember tho, with Asper, it can penetrate the egg itself, and he could have had it from then. Dont beat yourself up over it. You will never know where it came from.

We just want to make sure before baby comes home, you have the resutls from the Necropsy. Thats very IMPORTANT!

If it makes you feel more comfortable, I will come up when I move, and check out where you will be keeping him and give you some ideas.

Oh wow. There intentions were good. Maybe the new timmy will help ease the pain of losing Cosmo. I don't have any real advice, I just wanted to say good luck and congrats. If you love the new bird half as much as you loved Cosmo he is in for a wonderful life!

Its a BOY so u got a nephew...just wish i can come up with a name...
is a macaw size cage good for him or do i have to start out small and work him into the big cage i know they are clumsy....
i have so many questions ..i dont even know where to start? but i will put them in the grey section when i do..
i will be calling the vet before the new one comes home....

That was such a sweet surprise! If it were up to us to find a new somebirdy to love it would take a very long time so I think what your parents did was very sweet!!! Have faith and enjoy him!!!!
