Wink Tough day[s] for the Budgies

My husband is working from home again. The Budgies have been banned from the office when he's working.
[try talking to clients with 2 Budgies who think they should fill in any quiet spots & add background excitement. Laker likes to stand on the phone & attack your fingers when you dial] When Matthew takes breaks they are allowed in & race in like they are really missing out.

So this afternoon they raced in & both landed on the ceiling light fixture & it fell! I'm happy to say I survived & of course the 2 Budgies flew off in great alarm. So instead of chatting on Parrotchatter I was sweeping glass from everywhere.

Then, the one time i came into the office & didn't close the door 100%; Next thing I know we have Budgies. They can fly thru the smallest openings. But because the ceiling fixture was gone & they were a bit excited they couldn't make up their minds where to land. Rio crashed into the curtains & landed in the paper clips, while Laker crashed into my lab coat [painting coat] on the back of the door, & fell to the ground and walked by me like a drunken sailor. Poor wee fellow - he hopped up really quickly onto my hand & Rio followed us back to their/our room.

They've been getting really boisterous lately.
Must be feeling pretty good.
I went by my son's room the other day & they had the Hibiscus swaying.

Spring is in the air, Jac...the budgies know it! I will send you up the weather that goes with it.

Your story reminds me of Pogo and Ziggy ... they are complete maniac most of the night. Flying around and chasing each other all over the place. Using my head as a landing spot during the X-games, and making tons of noise. I can say these guys are not bumps on a log but crazy dynmos high pellets or something.

What a funny story. I'm glad no one was hurt during the ceiling fan incident, YIKES! It sounds as if they are full of the frisky's, LOL!

Well I can see I'm not alone!

Both my husband & I endure the constant head landings as well and the almost audible body slams as they vie for position on our back and shoulders.

Perhaps this year we'll implement some ground rules to smooth things a bit. But as everyone knows they're not 'exactly' like dogs. They are spoiled tho.

Loved your story. I'm glad the burdies didn't get hurt. They sure have the run of the house. Tobi won't leave the livingroom. Once in a blue moon she'll venture into my bedroom or the computer room which is off the livingroom. Unless I personaly bring her into the computer room to sit and visit with me on the desk, she doesn't explore the rest of the house.

I guess I should be thankful...this way we always know where she is...

I somehow suspect this will change for you, over time. Toby will be following you i think, the more she sees you as her flock.

We discourage our 'flock' from our living room because of the kitchen & balcony. Luckily we have a dark hallway that kind of freaks them out - but they have been in the living room 3x's this winter - when the office door is closed & they see the kitchen light. But that is a relatively large room & kind of makes them uneasy as of yet. They stay primarily in the back half of the apt. [3 rooms & a hallway + 2 bathrooms] & that has been OK.

This exuberance comes in a large part from Rio's more lase fair attitude. Laker was always pretty relaxed with us but until now Rio has not allowed much interaction either on his part or Laker's. Rio doesn't mind sitting on my head or shoulder or lap or even on top of my foot but still will not step-up unless it is bedtime or he's frightened.
