Default Todays adventure....

My morning started out with having all 13 macaws out on their play gyms by 9am. I had the plumber coming to move the baseboard heating in the bird room to under the windows (where it should have been in the first place). I needed to clean the windows and the floor before they started and move all the cages away from where they'd be working.

After a couple hours I figured they might be thirsty...I should have known better. As I was walking around with a BOWL in my hand giving everyone a drink of ice water Budgie wanted seconds, so the nice "mom" I am went back, he took a nice long drink then narrowed his eyes....he nailed the same finger Ruben did at the beginning of the week! He ripped open my cuticle and held on.

I decided he needed a time out and went to get a stick (don't trust him stepping on my hand, been bit too many times that way). Well, he jumped on the floor and ran over to the t-stand Moki was on. I grabbed her and tossed her across the room. She didn't like that and came back to not only attack Budgie but to show me who's boss. I don't know how she did it but she ended up on the atom that was hanging above my head. I toweled Budgie and gave him a time out in Harleys cage. I had to towel him to get him out, he complained but settled down after I put him on my lap. We had a few minutes of scritches then he wanted to get away.

After the plumber was done I decided to clean the room and mop the floor. Now, the floor is cement and I was wearing flip flops. I had mopped the entire section the length of the window. I needed to get more newspaper from the kitchen to clean cages...it happened so quickly. As I made the turn around the cages my feet kept going straight while my body went the other way. I landed on my left knee...Harley was in the room with me and just looked at me. MaiTai was looking at me from the kitchen saying "Oh ****" over and over.

I have a huge black and blue on my knee, elbow and top of my hand.

It's funny, I'm up at 6am every morning and go to bed between 11-12 at night. Wednesday night I was so tired I got home from work at 5:30 put all my fids to bed, fed the dogs and crawled in bed for a nap at 7pm. John checked on me when he came home from work and I didn't wake up until 6:30 this morning. I guess every once in awhile I need sleep.

Although you could have been hurt badly, it did sound a little comical.
We should put some of these stories in a book and call it , PC Calamities.

LOL, All I kept thinking was "Thank God John doesn't have that video camera working yet"!

Moki is the only bird that will wander from playstand to playstand. She has no fear of any bird and will kick bird butt when she feels like it. One night MaiTai had gone after Ciccio a couple of times. Moki, doesn't care for other birds, had enough and quickly got down and hurried over to protect him.

We refer to Moki as the pitbull of the bird world

My goodness, what a day huh??? You poor thing, I sure hope you'll get to feeling better soon. I did something similar to that last year and ended up twisting my left foot so badly that I had to wear an aircast for three weeks.
