Default Sick to my stomach.

I have had it. I am sick to my stomach over these birds.

Here is Peggy when I took her. Here is Manau when I found her and here is Pi'ere. It is sickening how people can treat birds like this. I am disgusted and dismayed and I just feel like giving up on humans.
Why don't these friggin people look after their birds??????

This is me giving water to Manau by syringe. She was sooo thirsty. I gave her 200ml on the first go.

This is the love I had with her. We had many kisses like this.
Sad, soooo sad, losing loved birds and looking after birds that are not cared for properly or not wanted any more. I hurt for their hurt. I especially hate the blood loss from these birds. I am sick of blood spurting eveywhere. I don't know why I do this and I don't know how I handle it.

It's terrible, and that is why message boards like this one exist, to help people to help their birds.

But.. I have a BG that I adopted, she had 5 homes by the time she was 3. She has never stopped plucking, and 2 1/2 years later, she has 'grown' her plucking to my great dismay - with all spectrum lighting, love and attention, good food, etc. Just yesterday, I saw blood on her inner wing.. she was trying to pull a blood feather from her thigh, and it bled all over her wing. So sometimes these birds get psychotic and it is really difficult to treat.

They are going to die for sure. They all have PBFD. But please look after them till they do go. Why don't people care??

The blood from these birds goes everywhere, it flicks all over your walls the floor.
I came back to my home after letting it to a tenant. I was looking at all the damage and marking it down. What did I see on the wall, blood. I remembered, heck I didn't clean that off from Peggy before I moved out.

I have learned that I have to focus on the good people to get through the day. There is violence, cruelty and greed that impacts other people, animals and the world around us and it is rampant. If I think about it too much, I want to crawl into a cave and never come out. But there are wonderful people who are making a positive change in a million different ways. I think the best we can do is to nurture that spirit and teach it to anyone who will listen.

Thanks for caring so much!

Thanks for your warm thoughts.

It still peeves me though. why are people so ignorant and cruel.
why do they think they deserve pets when they treat them like **** Why does society let them get away with it.

Cruel, very, very cruel for Gods innocent creatures. They are loving and trusting. Poor things.

You pretty much summed it up.

Poor birds, they are the lucky ones, they have found someone to love and take care of them. I am a first time bird mum and was very naive when I got Billy. There was something dodgy about where he came from, he was miles away yet advertised in my local paper, the woman i spoke to had no concern about the fact i had no idea of how to look after him and told me he would settle down in a few days and i would be able to let him out of cage then. 4 months later Billy is still learning to trust me, cant get near him still but he now has his door open all day for if he wants to come out. He came to me with no feathers on his head and looks like someone hit him on beak and cracked it . If i had known then what i know now I wouldnt have taken him on, convinced hes come from a profit making parrot breeding place of which we need to boycott but what happens to these poor birds from that sort of place? I dont regret Billy and would certainly never part with him its nice to see him developing even if it is very slowly. Good luck with your rescued birdies.

Bless your sweet heart! You are just having a hard day. Remember all the good you do for the birds and Philippians 4:8 "Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." ps Give Peggy a hug for us! Lovingly, Jessalyn

I admire your work. But I'm hearing a lot of anger & hurt in this posting. It pains me that you are wasting your precious resources going there. You know there is a lot of ignorance out there. Your example will open many doors - please do not despair.

The only thing that matters is what you are doing. I'd hate to see you waste your energy on this emotional roller coaster. No one can control anything outside of their own self & even there it can be hard. I beg you to let the other stuff wash off your back like a duck - be like a duck - think like a duck! Shake off your frustrations & move onto enjoying your days.
