Hi everyone, I am turning to everyone for some help input etc... Right now the rescue is struggling,we need help.
If anyone has idea's to help please let me know.
I am also looking for people willing to due some fundraising type things.
Due to the holidays things have been very slow,but yet we keep getting more birds in.
I have been pretty much working alone at the shelter everyday,I am a bit worn out,and just need help with other things,by the time I get home I am tired.
Please if anyone has some ideas please share them the rescue really needs help.

I have not applied for grants,as I have no idea how to write them,Help at the rescue right now is just not there,It is so hard for me to take care of birds all day feeding cleaning etc..and then try to figure other things out,I am pretty stressed right now,I have lost 45 lbs in a very short period due to working my butt off alone.
I just need idea's and help getting ideas started.

grants are very hard to get, there is a LOT of competition for them. i wish i lived closer so i could volunteer my time. have you thought of posting ads on craigslist looking for volunteers or asking for donations? are there any local bird shows in your area where you could set up a booth and get the word out? or how about contacting your local newspaper to get an article written about your cause and how help is needed? if you can get some people together, bake sales and yard sales are a great way to raise money. also, if there are any local bird/pet stores in your area, see if they would be willing to keep a donation jar for you on their counter.

i know it must be hard, but try not to stress yourself too much. after all, if you aren't happy, none of all your sweet birds can be either

Barb, wonder if you and grandma can work together with this online. I can imagine your time constraints.

I am willing to do what ever it takes,to make this rescue a sucess,I just have to admit I can't do it alone anymore.

I also wish I lived closer and could help. It seems the unwanted and homeless animals just dont stop coming in. Although Im an independant bird rescuer, I can imagine the struggle you're going through. Birds are very hard to rehome .. there arent as many homes out there for birds and why I either keep them or surrender them to sanctuaries. Its so sad. They are truly victims of society and until we educate people, I dont see it stopping. I'll be sending prayers your way that things get better.
