Re: Questions regarding rescue Just a thought to think about. How about fostering? Or you could volunteer, God know must rescues could use the help. The way I do my small part and I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I only have 1 extra cage. I only take 1 at a time. Not a lot in the whole mess of parrots needing homes, but it is my small part I can do. If I only have one extra cage, then I only have room for 1 extra big. Every bird you take in takes you away from your family, your birds and time you may or may not have. Some else already said it but , A rescue bird comes with baggage, some times a lot of work is needed to get that bird back on track. Even if they come from the best of homes, there will be baggage, lost of home, lost of flock, and so on, see my point here.
If I lived close enough, I would volunteer my time. Just a thought.
Oh, one other things to think about, Sybil Erden, has a place to stay and could use the help. Maybe you could take a trip out there, stay with them and see how things are done. |
