Here's the problem. Even though I don't have biters... Dad LOVES to interact with the birds, and does so daily. He takes them out in the early afternoon from cages to stands in the livingroom... then plays with them, and takes Red outside for a few minutes, several times daily because that's what Red likes. The issue is that dad has REALLY REALLY thin skin, AND he is on blood thinners. I don't have to go into detail, you get the picture, he is often a mess. Even very well groomed, macaw talons can do really bad damage to that type of skin without even trying. Not to mention I can't even put bandaids on dad really, because the birds would pick them off and the glue damages his skin too.
Ace bandages were too hard to deal with.... I wonder if I could talk him into something like this. Thanks for the link! |
