Default Ollie Flying

A lot of people ask about these guys flying in the house, through doorways and such with their wingspan. Now, Ollie has nothing on a macaw, but she still has to navigate fairly well to make it out of my bedroom into the living room. She is getting better by the day at flying- she can make it out of my bedroom when the door is only open about a foot and a half (I was in shock when this happened- it was a wake up call!).

It seems like some people clip because they don't feel they have a large enough open area for their birds to fly safely. If they get the practice and are able to perfect their skills, they don't need an arena to fly in! Ollie gets plenty of safe exercise in my tiny apartment, and even just my bedroom.

A "nut" (almond). She will do anything for one! One of her favorite phrases now is "you wanna nut?!" The little stinker kept flying out before I could get set up in the living room, so Matt had to go block her. So of course when I was finally ready and called her, she wouldn't come! We're doing great on recall, but it usually doesn't extend through doorways!
