Oliver had a 2:30 appointment today with Dr. Berens. She's the cute little red haired vet that all my birds see. She's no bigger than a minute. In fact Oliver is probably bigger than she is.

But big thins come in small packages and we like keeping that red haired thing in the family you see.
So I corralled the lil' green darlin and got him into his carrier after several attempts and off we went. It's about a 45 minute drive so Oliver got to hear his favorite country station and sang along on the way there. He's not ALWAYS on key but hey Simon ain't listening so who cares.
Into our exam room we went where he promptly let us weigh him. Good job Oliver. 386 grams. Nice and healthy so he decided he'd just hang out on their perch and wait for that other red head that I had told him about and had asked him to please be very nice to when she came in the room.
Oliver gets over his initial nervousness while we're waiting and decides he feels comfortable enough to sing, to utter his favorite phrases which are hubba hubba hubba and Oliveeeerrrrrrrr. He's happy passing the time away and THEN
The door opens and Dr. Stunning walks in and Oliver yells "GO WAY! GO WAY WAY WAY! She laughs which makes him feel better and then we get to the business of toweling him and he lets us know in no uncertain terms how displeased he is and is then carried off to get a sample for DNA. All the way down the hallway he screams MOM MOM MOMHELP!

Needless to say we are all dying laughing much to Oliver's chagrin.
Anyway, we're home now and Oliver is happily eating his treat and perched next to me on his stand.
Stay tuned a few weeks from now to see if Oliver is really Oliver.
